Special Education Department

Grand Haven Area Public Schools offers a wide range of programs and support services for students with disabilities, and ensures students have access to all educational opportunities.  The district serves students with mild speech disorders as well as those with significant academic and physical delays from early childhood through the age 26. 

Some of our buildings are home to classrooms for students with eligibilities of Cognitive Impairment, Autism, and Severe Multiple Impairment.  Resource room services as well as support services including school psychologists, school social workers, special educational teacher consultants, speech and language therapists, occupational therapist and physical therapist are provided for special education students in all grades based upon their individual needs.

Programs and support services are also provided by the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District.
