Profiles
in Good Taste Profiles in Good Taste is available
in the Secondary Schools. The
program, designed by Chartwells, is an integral part of what makes Grand
Haven’s Lunch Program so unique. There
are a variety of different stations within our cafeteria that students can
choose from each day, meaning there is bound to be an entree for even the
pickiest eaters! Here is a brief
description of each station and what items are offered at each one. Origins: Origins is where you can find
entrees such as casseroles, comfort foods, food bars and daily menu
offerings. Examples include Pasta Bars, Chinese Bars, Breakfast Bars, Burger
Bars, and Macaroni & Cheese. This is where you will find your favorite
traditional lunches and homemade “comfort “ foods, as well as theme bars. Trattoria: We make our own pizza fresh daily
and feature these home made pies at Trattoria. We offer Cheese, Pepperoni and Specialty Pizzas (like BBQ
Chicken, Taco and Hawaiian Pizza) daily. In addition we also offer homemade calzones, Bosco Cheese
Filled breadsticks, and personal pan pizzas at this station. Fresh Grille: This is the stop where you will find
hot sandwiches and ala carte fryer items!
Buffalo Chicken Poppers, Cheeseburgers, Chicken Patty Sandwiches, and
Grilled Chicken Sandwiches are offered daily, as well as the Daily Specials
and French Fries. Sandwich Central: This station is where students can
get a fresh sub sandwich or wrap made right before their eyes. You select the
type of bread, meat and cheese, and add
fresh sandwich fixings and dressings, and we put it together for you
into a unique and personalized lunch! Garden Emporium:
Here we have your traditional salad bar, complete with everything you
need to make a small side salad or a larger entrée salad. This area also features our own Au Bon
Pain soup station that offers two fresh soups each day and homemade yeast
rolls. Outtakes: It’s simply what the name
says…..Prepackaged salads, wraps, veggie trays w/dip already made so you can
grab it and go quickly. BREAKFAST IS BETTER THAN EVER! Check out our breakfast menu!
It appears at the top of each lunch menu for your convenience. We now offer a weekly menu with 3 choices
every day! We are featuring a hot entrée, the cereal of your choice, or a
granola bar! Fridays will still be Pop-Tart Day, now made with Whole Grain!!
Start your day with breakfast at school! Breakfast is offered at Ferry, Griffin, Lake Hills, Mary A.
White, and Robinson Elementary Schools. Breakfasts include one entrée, a fruit or juice and milk. There are also a variety of cold cereals available as a daily
breakfast entrée option for students. Students
receiving meal benefits are eligible for the same benefits at breakfast as
they receive at lunch. Lunch is served at all of our elementary schools in the district. Students can choose from two hot entrée
choices as well as a chef’s salad.
Each school has a fresh salad bar that is available to students who
have purchased a meal that day. The salad bar includes salad, fresh and
canned fruits, trail mix and juice. |
