MME Tests ACT Test SAT Test

ACT Test

The ACT is the qualifying test for the Michigan Competitive Scholarship. Every junior is strongly encouraged to take the ACT and/or SAT tests late in the winter or spring (February, April or June) of their junior year. This will provide scores to the educational institutions in time for application in the fall of their senior year. This also gives the opportunity to retest in the fall (October) of their senior year to improve scores. It is probably not beneficial to test earlier, since reading and math skills will continue to improve throughout the junior year of high school. ACT and SAT added a writing section to the tests in 2005. The ACT writing section will be optional but most schools are requiring the writing section. Please check with the college, you are interested in attending. Registration packets may be picked up in Student Services. ACT Tests will be offered at GHHS October 25, February 7and June 13 this school year.

The MME consists of three major components: the ACT college entrance examination, the WorkKeys job skills assessments in reading and mathematics, and Michigan assessments in mathematics, science, social studies, and persuasive writing. The combined MME assessment measures student learning in the Michigan high school standards, benchmarks, and core content expectations.
