The following guidelines for Grand Haven High School dances are designed to help provide a safe and positive experience for our students and guests.

1 .All students will enter through the designated entrance near the high school Field House, and must have a current student ID, or purchase one at the door. Friday dances have a $5.00 entrance fee and Saturday costs $10.00. The only exception is PROM.

2. The doors will be locked at 10:15 PM and no student will be admitted late unless they have a pre-arranged pass from their assistant principal because of work or another school activity. All Friday dances begin at 9:00 PM (or at the completion of the game preceding it) and Saturday dances at 8:00 PM. All dances end at 11:30 PM.

3. Once a student/guest leaves the dance there will be NO RE-ADMITTANCE to the building.

4. All Grand Haven High School Handbook policies will be in effect for dances. The only exceptions would be that cell phones and hats are permitted.

5. If a Grand Haven High School student (or Central High School student) wishes to bring a guest (one), the student must have a guest pass approved prior to the dance by an administrator. These are available in the attendance office.

6. Middle school students are not allowed at high school dances.

7. There is to be no inappropriate dancing (dirty dancing, grinding, banging bodies, passing bodies, and/or jumping/flipping.) "Face-to-face and leave some space." Students dancing in this manner will be asked to stop and subsequent inappropriate dancing will result in being removed from the dance.

8. Students will be removed from dances if they are rude, non-compliant, engage in a verbal or physical confrontation, or refuse to abide by the Grand Haven High School Handbook policies.

9. If a student is suspected of being under the influence or in possession of illegal substances, school and/or police intervention will occur. Please note that students under suspicion of being under the influence of alcohol will be subject to a Breathalyzer. Disciplinary action will be in accordance with the Grand Haven High School Handbook.
