We are pleased you are researching employment with Grand Haven Area Public Schools. We believe this system is an easier application process for individuals seeking employment with the District by reducing paperwork and time in addition to providing access to a greater number of job opportunities.

If you are interested in applying for employment, you must complete the online application. Once you submit your online application and apply for a vacant position, it will be available for immediate review online by our administrative staff.

You must also upload support documents to your application. We require (for teaching and administrative positions) your resume, transcripts, certificates, and letters of recommendation. All other support applicants may upload documents including any of the above.

If you have previously submitted a paper application, you will need to complete an online application through our GHAPS website to be considered for a position. If you are unable to access our website, there is a computer kiosk available for your use during the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the ESC, 1415 Beechtree, Grand Haven, MI 49417.

PLEASE DO NOT MAIL OR BRING COPIES OF YOUR APPLICATION, RESUME, TRANSCRIPTS, LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION OR ADDITIONAL SUPPORT DOCUMENTS TO THE DISTRICT UNLESS REQUESTED. DUE TO SPACE LIMITATIONS, UNSOLICITED HARD COPY DOCUMENTS ARE DISCARDED.

Employment Policies

Recommendation for teaching positions will be made by the Assistant Superintendent to the Board of Education. Recommendation for support positions will be made by the interview team to the Assistant Superintendent.

Because the quality of education is determined by the capabilities of the teaching staff, the Board is pledged to seek the most competent persons, utilizing all sources for whatever position may exist.

The Superintendent shall have in place all appropriate procedures relative to the Americans with Disabilities Act.
