The Grand Haven Area Convention & Visitors Bureau will host the 43rd Annual Sand Sculpture Contest on Saturday, June 20, the day before Father’s Day. Compete solo or in teams to build the best sand sculpture in Individual, Group, and Youth Group (ages 12 and under) categories. Local judges will award 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes, and spectators can vote for their favorite in the People’s Choice contest.
This year features live demos and tips from Sand Pros Sand Pirates, plus a large-scale exhibition build by Sand Fanatics. After the contest, everyone is invited to “Storm The Castle” and safely help take down the giant sculpture.
A free Park-N-Ride shuttle with Harbor Transit will run to City Beach starting at 10 a.m. from Duneside Discovery Center, 1400 Wisconsin St., Grand Haven.
