Instructional Services Department

The Instructional Services Office leads the staff of GHAPS to ensure high quality instructional experiences for all students. Effective curriculum delivery begins with the alignment of district curriculum with state expectations. Development of assessments to measure mastery, and the identification of research-based instructional practices to ensure student learning are the next steps. Finally, it is necessary to identify and implement the resources and professional development needed to ensure that staff is prepared to provide high quality instruction for all students.

The success of every student is our number one priority at Grand Haven Area Public Schools. In addition to the traditional subject areas such as math, reading, science and social studies, your child will become a quality producer who understands the importance of excellence. Your child will learn to work as a team member who applies creative and critical thinking skills to solve problems. Your child will become a self-directed learner and will understand responsibility to the community and the world. Each child has different interests, distinctive talents, and a promising future. The staff at Grand Haven Area Public Schools, working in partnership with you, will provide your child with the skills to build a successful future.
