Nixle Alerts Registration

Grand Haven Area Public Schools is expanding the way we communicate with our parents and community members via e-mail and text messages.

Our district, along with other local agencies like the city of Grand Haven and the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety) have formed a partnership with Nixle Notification System . Nixle is a messaging service offered at no cost to schools and public agencies through a partnership with Nlets, the International Public Safety and Justice Network.

**Please be aware that if you elect to receive SMS text messages you may incur charges depending on your cell phone plan.  GHAPS is not responsible for costs incurred by electing to receive text messages.

For those who live in the 49417, 49456, 49441 and 49460 zip codes:

To Create an Account
 
  1. Go to local.nixle.com/register
  2. Create an account by choosing a User Name and Password
  3. Enter an e-mail address and cell phone number where you would like to receive messages
  4. Enter your address (or a nearby intersection)
  5. Click "I Accept. Sign Me Up"

To Customize your Nixle Account

  1. Log in at local.nixle.com/accounts/login
  2. Click "Locations"
  3. Click "Add New" to add addresses in your town.
  4. Click "Settings"
  5. Check to make sure you have selected Grand Haven Area Public Schools.

  3. Click "Add New" and add the address of the Education Service Center (1415 Beechtree, Grand Haven, MI 49417).  This will allow you to see GHAPS as an agency to follow.
  4. Click "Settings"
  5. Check to make sure you have selected Grand Haven Area Public Schools.
