We love it when members of our community take the time to recognize GHAPS staff who make a difference beyond our schools. The message below was recently shared with us by a local business owner, recognizing one of our bus drivers for an act of kindness that truly reflects the spirit of our district:
“As a retired teacher, I know how busy this time of year can be, especially as winter break approaches. I wanted to take a moment to share an interaction I had with one of your bus drivers, DeeDee (Doris) Whipple. After noticing our mailbox had been knocked into the road, she stopped, safely moved it out of harm’s way, gathered the mail that had blown around, and later went out of her way to personally return the mail to our store. What she did went far beyond what anyone would expect, and it meant so much to us. Her kindness was truly Star worthy.”
