Duneside Discovery Center has introduced a new StoryWalk for students to explore — and this one offers a unique twist. While StoryWalks have been part of the Duneside experience around school grounds before, this newest installation invites students to venture into Duncan Woods, just beyond the school’s property.
Created in collaboration with Loutit District Library and Duncan Woods, the StoryWalk places pages of a children’s book along the wooded trail, blending literacy and outdoor exploration. Along the way, students encounter thoughtful prompts that encourage them to look closely at the world around them and apply what they’re learning from the story to their own observations in nature. It’s another meaningful way Duneside brings reading, curiosity, and the outdoors together.
