Before winter break, Mrs. Coffey’s second-grade class at Robinson Elementary welcomed a special guest—DNR Officer Brandon Griffith—who spoke with students about how living things impact land and water. Officer Griffith helped bring classroom learning to life by sharing real-world examples of how people, animals, and the environment are connected, and why caring for natural resources matters.
Students were engaged and curious as they asked questions and learned more about protecting the land and water around them. Experiences like this help make learning meaningful and show students how their lessons connect to the world beyond the classroom.
