During a special meeting Tuesday evening, the Grand Haven Area Public Schools Board of Education appointed Brook Bisonet to fill the trustee vacancy created by the resignation of longtime GHAPS educator and former Board member Carl Treutler.
The Board received 18 applications and interviewed four finalists before voting to appoint Bisonet, who is a GHAPS parent, local attorney, and President of Grand Haven Young Bucs Athletics. He will serve as a trustee until the November 3, 2026 election has been held and certified, after which an elected successor will serve the remainder of the term through December 31, 2028.
