The start of a new school year is just around the corner! As GHAPS families prepare for 2026–2027, we want to make sure you have the important dates and resources you need for the weeks ahead.

School Begins August 26

The 2026–2027 school year begins Wednesday, August 26, for students in grades 1–12. Kindergarten, Young Fives, and ECSE begin August 27, followed by GSRP and PDP on August 31.

This year's calendar begins a little earlier than in recent years. Each year, GHAPS considers a number of factors when developing the school calendar, including family feedback, instructional requirements, staff professional learning, contractual obligations, and the timing of the school year. With Labor Day falling later this year, waiting until after the holiday would have extended the school year farther into June and begun to overlap with summer camps and other community programs.

Students will have an extended Labor Day weekend, with no school Friday, September 4 through Monday, September 7.
