Congratulations to Lakeshore futurePREP’d students Norah Bakara, Madelyn Haracourt, Emmett Patterson, and Gracie Stranberg for being named one of the top three finalists in the statewide Michigan Design Challenge.
Their innovative design, the “SeatMate,” features interchangeable backrests that allow users to customize comfort and support for a variety of settings, from sporting events to schools and community spaces. The lightweight, foldable design also includes portability features that make it easy to transport and use in everyday life. Check out a video highlighting the design here.
The team will learn its final placement during the Michigan Design Challenge Awards Ceremony on June 4 in Detroit. We are incredibly proud of these students for representing Grand Haven Area Public Schools with creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving at the state level.
