Parents and Students
Partnering with families is a priority. Grand Haven Area Public Schools provides families with programs, plans, and ideas to build family support for student success. In addition, parents are invited to be involved in the development of educational programs and to work in schools and classrooms throughout the district supporting those programs. It is our belief that parent and family involvement in educational programs and opportunities will help make the vision of the district - Success for All - a reality.

Volunteers
Volunteers are needed for a variety of events, activities, and tasks at our schools. Some needs are one-time events (field trips, BucBlasters, mailings, stapling, assembling, etc.); others are on a regular basis (daily, twice a week, weekly, etc.) If you have a few minutes or a few hours, we can use your help! Please complete the Volunteer Interest Form and return it to your child’s teacher or school office.
The safety of students in the Grand Haven Area Public Schools is our number one priority. To help insure that safety, the GHAPS conducts a records check on all individuals volunteering in our schools. If you intend to volunteer in our school or plan to volunteer in the future, you must complete the Volunteer Assessment Form and return it to the school office immediately. This includes people working in any capacity in the school – in the classroom, office, field trips, chaperoning parties, etc. This information will be submitted to the Michigan State Police ICHAT (Internet Criminal History Access Tool) for review. It will be completely confidential.
When parents are involved in their child’s education, students tend to do better in school. They realize you value education and their success is important to you. We hope that with the variety of volunteer opportunities available in our school, there is something that will fit into your schedule. Please do not hesitate to call the school office if you have questions or would like additional information.
Thank you for your willingness to support our school.
